Dr. Charles & Belinda Alkula come to us as a committed team, eager to go where they are called to serve, just having completed six years of service at the Stevensville UMC in Montana. Pastor Charles particularly enjoys preaching and teaching, is an ardent student of Wesleyan history, and is a life-long United Methodist, understanding that The Church doesn’t always get it right... but believes himself to be a loyal servant of the church, not afraid of tough questions and strongly believes in reconciling ministry.
Pastor Charles is of Finnish heritage, coming from NE Ohio. Experiences in college, the Army, and as a Navy Chaplain appealed to his sense of adventure, taking them to places like Nebraska, Japan, Cornwall (in England), Texas, and Montana before coming here. Belinda serves alongside her husband as a true helpmate; she has many interests and is very active in the United Methodist Women at the conference level. Dr. Alkula describes himself as focused, loyal, dedicated, likes to learn, be creative, and enjoys exchanging new ideas.
The Alkula’s have a blog if you’d like to see some images and more information – visit www.alkula.blogspot.com. Additionally, Pastor Charles’ doctoral thesis can be found at www.revdralkula.weebly.com, and his art portfolio website can be seen at www.revartmontana.com.
