Groundhog Day dawns on the Flatirons |
Jessica and Peter share their gift |
Pastor Charles shares the Word |
A lovely time together |
This morning the choir shared "In Time of Holy Communion" for our anthem. Pastor Charles' sermon came from Matthew 5:1-12. In the sermon, a reading from Nadia Bolz-Weber was shared. This is a modern telling of the Beatitudes. We were especially blessed this morning with the amazing musical offerings on violin by Jessica Oddie and Peter Clark. Jessica has been rehearsing at St. Paul's over the past few weeks and leaves Boulder this week for New Zealand where she will assume the duties of the Assistant Concertmaster for the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in Auckland. Their offerings (available on our YouTube channel) were: Prelude: "Allegro spiritoso" (Franz Joseph Haydn); Communion: “Gavotte Grazioso - Andante” from Sonata in E minor for Two Violins (Jean-Marie LeClair) & “Largo" from Solo Violin Sonata No. 3 in C Major (Johann Sebastian Bach); Offertory: “Allegro Assai” from Solo Violin Sonata No. 3 in C Major (Johann Sebastian Bach); Postlude: “Sekstur from Vendsyssel - The Peat Dance” (Danish String Quartet); “Allegro ma poco” from Sonata in E minor for Two Violins (Jean-Marie Leclair).
Thanks this morning to: Belinda Alkula (Video), Angela Baker (Communion/Liturgist), Martha Batch, Sandra Jordan, Molly Nunnery (Counters), Jerry Beaber, Austin Cooper (Ushers), Jessica Bishop (Nursery), Peter Clark (Piano/violin), Wally Cleaveland (Alpha&Omega/saxophone), Tim Cook (Church school/trombone), Lorie Courier (Accompanist/flute), Ben Glancy & Josie Glancy (Microphone wranglers), Scott Glancy (Youth class), Dennis & Marcia Hult (Fellowship), Jessica Oddie (Violin), Ron Revier (Choir), Gary & Brenda Smith (Fellowship), and Christopher Wahl (Alpha&Omega accompanist/sound board).
