The Navajo Nation is 3rd in the nation per capita for cases of COVID-19. The only places with higher rates of infection are New York and New Jersey. There are currently nearly 900 confirmed cases on the rez and 30+ deaths. The tribe has closed rez territory to outsiders, set a curfew from 8pm-5am every night, and will shut down on weekends from 8pm Friday through 5am Monday for the next 3 weekends. They are receiving medical and facility help from the national guard and the Army Corps of Engineers. First UMC of Cortez and Native Grace members have been sewing masks.
