The arrest of two white men for the shooting death of an unarmed black jogger was a long time coming -- 74 days between the incident and the arrests. But now that the story has national attention, there is a racism narrative about the tragedy. Racism may well be a motivation in this case, but we are using the story here to help us consider what sort of questions we ought to ask ourselves before we automatically assume racism was the root cause.
