Prelude "Just as I Am" - Suzanne P.
Call to Worship (Psalm 103:1-6)—Pastor Charles (Leader) and Claudia M. (People) Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is
within me, bless God’s holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and do not forget
all God’s benefits--
who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all
your diseases,
who redeems your life from the Pit, who crowns
you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good as long as you
live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
The LORD works vindication and justice for all
who are oppressed. (Congregation is encouraged to read
People’s response aloud on mute setting)
A New Creed (The United Church of Canada, 2013) - Claudia M. (Congregation is encouraged to offer the creed aloud
on mute setting)
We are not alone; we live in God's world. We believe in God: who
has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to
reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in
God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence, to live with
respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil,
to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in
death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to
God.
