Global South and Gender Persepectives on COP27.

Join United Women in Faith live from COP27 in Egypt to discuss the importance of centering women and global south perspectives in to the climate negotiations happening right now and the implementation plans countries are taking home.

As we know, many groups who are the least responsible for climate emissions often are impacted the most from climate related disasters. That includes women, indigenous peoples, and many countries in the Global South. In order to tackle the climate crisis in a just and equitable matter, we must therefore, recognize the large human, cultural, and environmental damage that has already been made and center the voices of women and climate vulnerable populations in the international climate agenda and at home. We must also learn from their unique insights, demands, and innovations so needed to address the climate crisis. Furthermore, we must demand that countries pledge their fair climate contributions and provide appropriate financing for loss and damage.

Please join us Wednesday, November 16, from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. for the webinar.
