October 8 @ St. Paul's UMC: Announcements

 

+ If we are going to have an Advent/Christmas devotional this year, we need people to sign up by the end of October. This year's theme is, "The Names of Jesus."

+ Whatever happened to sin? Join Rebecca Glancy for a discussion of Sin by Hugh Connolly on Tuesday evenings at 7:15 via Zoom beginning THIS WEEK on October 10. We will meet for eight weeks. New and used copies of the book are available at Amazon.com. Let Rebecca know if you’re interested in participating.

+ Breakfast Fellowship will meet on Saturday, October 14, at 8:00 a.m. at Le Peep (2525 Arapahoe Ave, Boulder, next to McGuckin’s hardware). No reservations necessary. All are welcome!

+ Mountain Sky Conference United Women in Faith Hybrid Annual Gathering is October 13-14, 2023 (Friday and Saturday). The theme is “Stir the Pot of Love for    Justice.” The in-person location is First UMC, 2800 4th Ave North, Billings, MT; the link to join via Zoom is available upon registration. The registration deadline has passed; contact Belinda if you are interested in participating.

+ The Bainbridges are hosting a garage sale for Maui on October 20, 21, and 22. Donations can be dropped off beginning October 16 at 10 Norton Street. They need to borrow card tables and bigger tables; put your name on tables, and they will return them. They need hangers too. Donate, shop, give a few hours to help sort, etc. Contact Sandy and Steve at 970-584-0311.

+ St. Paul’s is forming a new Covenant Relationship with Cristian Schlick. Christian is a missionary representing the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries in ministries with migrants from Central America and Mexico. Cristian will visit St. Paul’s on October 22 at 5:00 p.m. to tell us about his work with Central American    migrants, and we will have dinner together in the fellowship    hall following the presentation. Understanding the Dynamics of Domestic Violence online training November 9 from 6-7:30 PM. In partnership with Methodists Helping Methodists, the Mountain Sky Conference will offer training for laity and clergy on learning the signs of domestic abuse. The training is led by Sheltering WingsThis training provides a full overview of domestic violence. Register at this link.
