October 8 @ St. Paul's UMC: Prayers


Joys:

+ Angela Baker gives thanks for George's 75th birthday and for an upcoming trip.

+ Dennis & Marcia Hult are blessed to be going to share time with their great-grandson's 2 months old.

+ Belinda Alkula is thankful that she got to see live-streaming of The National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, this weekend!!!

+ Rebecca lifts up Mawce who is taking her driving test tomorrow!

+ We had a FUN Ladies Lunch Bunch at Louisville’s Parma restaurant. 14 women from our church participated, including Louise Cook’s sister Sharon who was visiting from Iowa!!

+ Belinda Alkula had a WONDERFUL retreat in Buffalo, Wyoming, last week – working with the study leader for the winter 2024 Mission u adult Bible study!!!

+ We give thanks for our new neighbors, Haven Ridge (at former Mary Sandoe House) and the wonderful grand opening block party held yesterday.

+ We celebrate this week's birthday: Etta Levitt

+ We celebrate this week's anniversary: Steve & Martha Batch

We are blessed by those who served this week: Belinda Alkula (videographer), Pat Cleaveland (flowers/fellowship), Tim Cook (study class), Kathy Lloyd (Zoom host), Etta Levitt (Zoom usher), Claudia Mills (liturgist), Hyeji Park (pianist),      Suzanne Polacek (bells), Ron Revier (choir), and Jim Vander Vorste (greeter).


Concerns

Claudia Mills asks for traveling mercies as she goes to New Jersey for a reunion.

+ Michele Matthews lifts up her mom who is having health issues.

+ Praying for the Fairview High School students who struggle with food-insecurity and homelessness … and for the administration personnel, counselors, and teachers who do all they can to help those students. 

Belinda Alkula asks for continued prayers for her brother, Rob – for his comfort and health – as he recovers from a stroke a few weeks ago. 

+ We join with people around the world in lifting up prayers for the Israeli and Palestinian peoples as their communities engage in war once more.

Pastor Charles asks for prayers for his mother’s comfort and healing – health concerns.
