August 13 @ St. Paul's UMC: Prayers

Joys:

+ Suzanne Polacek and Gary Smith praise God for the new hearing loop technology in the sanctuary which has enhanced people's worship experience.

+ Thanksgiving for Pastor Charles' safe travels to Cody, Wyoming, where he will be participating in an icon writing spiritual retreat.

+ Claudia Mills is thankful that she was able to observe the Perseids meteor shower early this morning.

+ Amy Abshire thanks God for her niece who just graduated and the celebrations to ensue.

+ Myrle Myers is thankful that no one was hurt in her car's encounter with elk. And while her car needs repair, it is still drivable.

+ Belinda Alkula is thankful for a church family who is ready, willing, and able to provide assistance, again this year, to the students at the neighborhood Fairview High School.

+We celebrate this week's birthdays: Rhea Esposito and Terri Himes. We are also happy to celebrate the anniversaries of Steve & Michele Matthews and Scott & Rebecca Glancy.

+We are blessed by those who serve this week: Amy Abshire (liturgist), Belinda Alkula (videographer), Steve Bainbridge (greeter/usher), Sandy Bainbridge (message), Angela Baker (flowers), Lorie Courier (pianist), Ben Glancy (liturgist), Kathy Lloyd (Zoom host), Etta Levitt (Zoom usher), and Ron Revier (soloist).

Concerns:

+ Prayers for all impacted by the Hawaii fires. The latest death toll is 93.

+ Rebecca Glancy lifts up prayers for all students, administrators, counselors, and support staff at schools, as the new school year is about to begin.

+ Belinda Alkula asks for prayers for homeless students and their families who struggle with day-to-day life.

+Scott Glancy lifts up that a PATH Fund client, who we have helped several times over the past several years, is suffering from a kidney stone. It is very painful and preventing her from working, and that is creating financial problems for her. We don't have the money available to help with her bills right now, so please pray for her kidney stone and her finances.

+Scott Glancy asks for prayers for a different PATH Fun client that we helped a couple months ago just lost her Medicaid coverage because she got a job.  Without Medicaid, she had to use her rent money to buy her insulin.
