EarthKeepers training

Did you know that a UM EarthKeepers Training will be held right here in the Mountain Sky Conference in October 2023? Global Ministries seeks U.S.-based United Methodists to lead grassroots environmental projects that are action-oriented, antiracist, bold and entrepreneurial. Global Ministries EarthKeepers is a training program that equips US-based United Methodists to launch and grow environmental projects in their communities. Topics include eco-theology, antiracism, community organizing and project planning. All participants plan a project during the training. Registration is open, and more information may be found here: https://umcmission.org/EarthKeepers

Time Commitment: This training includes pre-training homework and in-person training. The pre-training homework will take up to 8 hours. It will be available starting September 15 and can be completed at the participants' convenience.

The in-person training begins October 5 at 5pm local time and ends October 8 at 1pm local time.

Participants are required to complete all homework and fully participate in all sessions of the in-person training in order to be commissioned.

This  Fall's training is at St. Andrew's UMC in Denver. If you have a passion for climate work (and i think you do because you are on this list!) please consider registering. You will need to think of a project. There are a lot of ideas  and some you might already be doing, you could potentially expand what you are doing ? 

Xeriscape?  Community garden? energy efficiency? Develop a Sunday school series? Lead a Sunday school series? Sponsor a youth climate film festival? A Youth Art show? LOTS of ideas.
