November 12 @ St. Paul's UMC: Announcements

+ Inclusiveness requires more than dreaming or hoping; it requires strategies to overcome cultural conservatism and religious recalcitrance that may not even be recognized, much less confessed. The departure of anti-gay members does not automatically mean United Methodism will become an affirming denomination of all God's people. The upcoming free Inclusiveness VII Conference for United Methodist laity and clergy on November 18 (8:30 AM - Noon) aims to empower the grassroots church to embrace an inclusive mission and ministry. Hear prophets and practitioners speak of their journey towards creating communities of faith that are more reflective of God's future inclusive realm. In an era of threatening so-called "Christian nationalism," embrace a United Methodist vision that is Gospel-centered and life-giving. Register for the webinar here.

This coming Sunday, November 19th, at 5:00 p.m., is the Friendsgiving Feast at the Wesley Foundation at CU-Boulder. All are invited for good food and fellowship -- families, church members, neighbors -- the more, the merrier! Turkey and ham, as well as mashed potatoes and stuffing, will be provided. A few students will be bringing dishes that are traditionally on their families' holiday tables. If you would like to contribute to the meal, please notify Rev. Murphy what you plan to take. After dinner, we will decorate Wesley for Christmas! (The Executive Director of the CU-Boulder Wesley Foundation is the Rev. Ashley Murphy. Her email address is director@wesleyf.org.)

St. Paul’s 2024 pledge drive is wrapping up. Did you forget to make your pledge? There are pledge cards on the table at the back of the sanctuary. If you have no changes to your pledge from last year, you may email Martha Batch to let her know that you wish to pledge the same amount.

EFAA Holiday Gift Room help spread holiday cheer for families struggling to make ends meet. Last year the EFAA gift room made the holidays brighter for more than 800 children and teens. St. Paul’s will continue our Christmas tradition by donating new, unwrapped gifts to support these families. You can find a detailed list on the registration table at the back of the sanctuary. Gifts will be delivered to EFAA on December 11.

+ It is time to reshuffle Dinner Circles. Dinner Circles are a way to get to know more of the people in our church family and foster stronger relationships. Please let Marcia Hult know at 307-761-0574, 720-562-8200 if you would like to be added to a group.
