Welcome... Pastor Charles

Prelude... Christopher Wahl

*Call to Worship (Psalm 63:1-8, CEB)... Ben Glancy

Leader: God! My God! It’s you—I search for you! My whole being thirsts for you! My body desires you in a dry and tired land, no water anywhere. People: Yes, I’ve seen you in the sanctuary; I’ve seen your power and glory. Leader: My lips praise you because your faithful love is better than life itself! So I will bless you as long as I’m alive; I will lift up my hands in your name. I’m fully satisfied—as with a rich dinner. People: My mouth speaks praise with joy on my lips—whenever I ponder you on my bed, whenever I meditate on you in the middle of the night—because you’ve been a help to me, and I shout for joy in the protection of your wings. My whole being clings to You; Your strong hand upholds me.

*Hymn... “There is a Balm in Gilead” (UMH #375)

Confession and Pardon (Wesleyan Methodist Conference—England, UMC Book of Worship #477)... Ben Glancy

Almighty and most merciful God, You know the thoughts of our hearts. We confess that we have sinned against You and done Evil in Your sight. We have transgressed Your holy laws. We have disregarded Your Word and Sacraments. Forgive us, O Lord. Give us grace and power to put away all hurtful things, that, being delivered from the bondage of sin, we may bring forth fruit worthy of repentance, and from henceforth   may ever walk in Your holy ways, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

If we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). May the almighty and merciful Lord grant us remission of all our sins, true repentance, amendment of life, and the grace and consolation of the Holy Spirit. Amen.  —Book of Common Prayer, 1979

*Offering/Doxology (“Old 100th”)

Praise God throughout these forty days. Praise Christ, our Lord, whom God did raise. And praise the Spirit who imparts God's love in Christ into our hearts. Amen.
