March 12 @ St. Paul's UMC: Announcements

+Sew What will meet on Friday, March 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Joan Cooper’s home. Please R.S.V.P. by March 14 to Joan via email, text, or phone call (ajcooperjr@comcast.net / 303-898-8034).

+Please add our weekly Zoom Fellowship to your calendar. We meet each Wednesday at 10:00 AM at this link.

+As a district, we gather at least once a year for fellowship, celebration, and learning. Our 2023 District Gathering will be held virtually on March 18, 9am-12pm. Please use this zoom link and join us. The Rev. Jeff Rainwater will help facilitate a very pertinent conversation on ways to learn reach out to our neighbors. Aging and decline are at the core of the struggle most churches are facing today. So, conversation will benefit everyone irrespective of church size.

+General Commission on Religion and Race and ResourceUMC invite you to take part in Together We Dine, a Vital Conversation on race relations. This event is a virtual experience that will host community and faith members to engage in courageous and safe conversations about the state of race relations. Project Unity trained facilitators guides participants in a structured dialogue about race. We aim for this experience to prove that what unites us is greater than what divides us. When: Tuesday, March 28th via Zoom, 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm. Register here.

+There is an immediate need for donations to Knight’s Closet at Fairview High School. Rupali Hoffmann, counselor at Fairview High School, reported that the shelves are empty and need replenishing. Items needed are Pop Tarts for breakfasts, bars (granola bars, cereal bars, etc.), and soup (anything but tomato or chicken noodle soup—can be a can of soup or an individual cup-of-soup).

+Directory update: Madelyn (Lyn) Nold, 2972 S. Otis Street, Denver, CO 90227-3530.

+New composting rules at St. Paul's. The new rules are simple. There are two categories: food scraps (produce, bread, bones, meat, cheese, eggshells, coffee grounds but no coffee filters, etc.) and yard and plant trimmings (leaves, twigs, branches, flowers, grass, and yard trimmings). So-called compostable plates and cups are no longer accepted. More details are posted in the kitchen. Thank you for helping keep St. Paul's green.

+Due to changes in our agreement with St. Paul’s group email service provider, the church office will reduce the number of weekly emails we send. We will no longer send an email on Monday mornings with Sunday’s prayer requests. Pastor Charles posts these on the blog (bolderstpauls.blogspot.com), and we will include the link to that in each week’s News You Can Use. You can still expect to receive News You Can Use on Tuesdays and the worship links on Fridays.
