The United Methodist Committee on Relief is joining in prayer for the people of Morocco affected by a 6.8-magnitude earthquake on Sept. 8 and for those devastated by severe flooding in Libya over the weekend.
In Morocco, more than 2,900 people have been killed in the strongest earthquake in the country in more than a century. In Libya, more than 5,000 people are dead as whole neighborhoods were swept into the sea by flash floods.
UMCOR urges prayer for those grieving and in need of healing and for first responders as they continue search and rescue efforts. The relief agency is coordinating with regional partners to determine how it might help in both countries.Donate to UMCOR’s International Disaster Response and Recovery
