September 3 @ St. Paul's UMC: Announcements

+Choir practice resumes on September 6th at 7:30 PM.

+Did you know that a UM EarthKeepers Training will be held right here in the Mountain Sky Conference in October 2023? Global Ministries seeks U.S.-based United Methodists to lead grassroots environmental projects that are action-oriented, antiracist, bold and entrepreneurial. Global Ministries EarthKeepers is a training program that equips US-based United Methodists to launch and grow environmental projects in their communities. Topics include eco-theology, antiracism, community organizing and project planning. All participants plan a project during the training. Registration is open, and more information may be found here: https://umcmission.org/EarthKeepers

+Fall food drive for EFAA - We will collect donations through September 17. EFAA’s shopping list of most needed items can be found at www.EFAA.org/donate. Thank you for your generosity!

+Ladies Lunch Bunch will meet Thursday, September 7, at 11:45 a.m. at Murphy’s Tap House (585 McCaslin Blvd., Louisville). Please R.S.V.P. to Bren Smith by September 5 (garysmith364@gmail.com / 303-910-5703).

+Breakfast Fellowship will be this coming Saturday, September 9, at 8:00 a.m. Please note the change in location this month. We will meet at the South Side Walnut Cafe in the Table Mesa Shopping Center (near Whole Foods) -- 673 S. Broadway, Boulder, CO 80305. No reservations are necessary. All are welcome! (Location was changed because of the expected flood of visitors into town for the first CU-Boulder football home game Saturday morning.) Questions may be directed to Belinda Alkula (cell: 303-916-2349).

+Join us for the St. Paul’s Fall Luncheon on Sunday, September 10. Pulled pork or BBQ chicken sandwiches and lemonade will be provided by the Fellowship Team. Bring something to add to the meal—salad, coleslaw, chips, dessert—or contribute to the donation basket that day. This will be a great day because the choir will be back from summer break and the food will be wonderful. Be sure to put it on your calendar.

+Fall Study Opportunity—If you’ve ever asked questions about church doctrine, you may enjoy a new Sunday morning class presented by Tim Cook – “Who’s Afraid of Orthodoxy?: Challenges, Misconceptions, and the Promise of Perennial Christian Truth.” This study will be offered at 8:45 a.m. in St Paul’s library, beginning Sunday, September 10. Reading will be minimal (a few handouts), and much  discussion will be encouraged.
