In light of the current situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and out of an abundance of caution and care, we will completely conduct District Gathering on Saturday, March 28 remotely. We will no longer gather in-person at designated locations, but connect through Zoom or by phone. The format of District Gathering will also change: the business of each district will still occur on March 28. This includes the nominations of the District Roundtable, the vote for equalization members and honoring of Quiet Disciples. However, the keynote presentation by the Rev. Annie Arnoldy and Rev. Michael Smith will be postponed to a later date. We intend to rethink the format of this education piece and make it accessible to the Mountain Sky Conference.
The Conference Communications Office will send regular updates as we receive them about District Gathering, the Coronavirus and future conference events. There are numerous questions in connection to District Gathering that we will answer, such as registration, access to technology and the processes that districts can conduct official business.
Registration for District Gathering is suspended until further notice. We will provide more information in the next week. Please keep an eye on your conference newsletter and emails from the district for updates. Questions can be directed to communications@mtnskyumc.org.
