March 22 @ St. Paul's UMC (1): Worship

Soichi Wantanabe
Following the guidance of the Mountain Sky Conference, and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not holding worship services in our sanctuary this week. Instead, we are offering posts here and on our YouTube channel as one way to stay connected as a community of faith.

The hymns for this week are linked to YouTube videos. The message may found on our YouTube channel. Click on the links below to view those files.

Call to Worship: Who can ascend the Lord’s mountain Who can stand in God’s holy sanctuary? Only the one with clean hands and a pure heart; the one who hasn’t made false promises, the one who hasn’t sworn dishonestly. That kind of person receives blessings from the Lord and righteousness from the God who saves. And that’s how things are with the generation that seeks God—that seeks the face of Jacob’s God.   - Psalm 24:3-6 (CEB)

Praise Hymn:Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us
Epistle Lesson: Ephesians 5:8-14
Hymn: "Lord, Whose Love Through Humble Service"
Gospel Lesson: Mark 14:1-11
Sermon: Wednesday in Holy Week (pt. 1 and pt. 2)

  1. Thank you Pastor Charles. I am really enjoying looking at Holy Week day by day. Todays sermon resonated deeply with me.

  3. Thank you Pastor Charles it is interesting to go day by day through Holy Week. This week it was interesting to hear about the polar opposite reactions to Jesus i.e. the woman that anointed his feet and Judas agreeing to betray Jesus.

Thank you for making these sermons available so we can feel connected to church.
