This weekend we join The New Room (Bristol, UK) in celebrating the 250th anniversary of Francis Asbury’s historic Atlantic voyage from England to America in 1771.
On Saturday, (12:30 PM MST) an evening of Americana from from The New Room (YouTube Live) is being shared as part of ‘The Asbury Crossing: Responding to Call’ celebrations.
On Sunday (8 AM MST), join The New Room for a service to celebrate Asbury’s historic voyage. Asbury, who had been commissioned by John Wesley at the New Room in Bristol, journeyed to America to undertake a preaching ministry that led, in 1784, to the establishment of the American Methodist Episcopal Church and Asbury being ordained as its first bishop.
