This morning, Bishop Oliveto asked the historic Wesleyan questions of the 2023 class of ordinands, an experience that every elder in our tradition has answered. The retiring clergy then welcomed this year's ordinands and passed the mantle of leadership to the new elders.
The highlight of the morning session of Annual Conference was the Memorial Service for clergy and their spouses who had died since the previous session of the Annual Conference. (view the Memorial Service at this link)
In the afternoon, the District Superintendents presented the following churches for closure: Christ Central UMC (Denver, CO), Carter UMC (Carter, MT), Fleming UMC (Fleming, CO), Redstone UMC (Redstone, MT), and St. James UMC (Central City, CO)
During the evening session, Pastor Charles was formally reappointed to St. Paul's UMC for a fifth year.
