The work of the Annual Conference |
The business of the Annual Conference continued today with the clergy and laity sessions in the morning, multiple ministry area presentations, dozens of petitions to consider, and administrative votes to be taken. Among the items considered in the clergy session were the retirements of sixteen pastors with a combined 333.5 years of service (an average of 20.8 years). Watch the video of this year's retirees.
The Conference voted to move from seven districts to six with focus on regional cohesion. The new districts (with the number of churches): Montana West (44), Montana East (53), Wyoming (34), Utah/Western Colorado (46), East/South Central Colorado (51), and Colorado Front Range (82) - this is where St. Paul's will now be found.
Other items of note:
In 2019 there were 376 churches in our conference, today there are 318.
In 2019 there were 60,792 members, today there are 48,068.
In 2019 there was an average of 32,339 worshipping in our churches each week.
In 2022, there was an average of 34,422.
70% of our churches worship with fewer than 85 per week.
50% of our churches worship with fewer than 50 per week.
