+Traditional mental health first aid tools can be helpful to some, but for those with historically marginalized identities, the same tools– such as calling 911 during a mental health crisis– can have a harmful result. Radical Mental Health First Aid helps us reduce the risk of harm caused to our neighbors by ourselves, our neighbors, by police, and even by well-meaning health care workers and professionals working in psychiatric fields and facilities. Facilitated by Oumou Sylla, Radical mental health invites you to join a movement that is radically reimagining how care is accessed and co-created. Join us for Radical Mental Health First Aid facilitated by Oumou Sylla on Thursday, September 19th @ 6:00 -8:30 PM via Zoom. Click here to register for Radical Mental Health First Aid.
