UMCOR response for Hurricane Helene

To give in support of this and other disasters throughout the U.S., donate here: https://bit.ly/umcorusdr

As UMCOR begins to coordinate with conference disaster ministries for affected communities throughout the southeast, we also want to reshare this message from Bishop Dease and the North Georgia Conference and South Georgia Conference:

Hurricane Helene has moved through Georgia leaving destruction in its wake. From Valdosta to Augusta and so many areas in between, the impact of the hurricane is heartbreaking.
On behalf of the South Georgia (SGA) and North Georgia (NGA) Conferences, we send our earnest prayers to all those persons and communities affected by Hurricane Helene. We also pray for generosity and provision asking individuals, churches, and organizations to contribute to UMCOR. You can make a donation to U.S. Disaster Response through any United Methodist Church in Georgia.
Our disaster response coordinators, Kelly Crane & Kelly Roberson (SGA) and Scott Parrish (NGA), along with other conference staff and district superintendents, are assessing how to effectively offer time, resources, and support in this stage of our response.
As you are able to check on your church and your neighbors, please be sure to contact your district superintendent to update them on damage to your church or in your community.
May God continue to walk with us all in this time of healing and restoration.
Your Co-Laborer,
Bishop Robin Dease
