Joys:

+We give thanks for the engagement of Jessica B. to Jakeb S.

+We give thanks for the work of the "Fun Finance Committee" at St. Paul's UMC!

+We give thanks for this week's birthday: Jack H. and Mark L.

+We give thanks this morning for the music of Christopher Wahl (piano). We also give thanks for Amy Abshire (liturgist), Belinda Alkula (video/Zoom), Austin Cooper (usher), the Glancy family (flowers), and Etta Levitt (Zoom usher).

Concerns:

+Prayers are asked for Doris S. as she recovers from health concerns.

+Jim M. is feeling under-the-weather at home.

+Amy A. asks for prayers for Tyler who is having health issues.

+Prayers for Brenda S. visiting in Ohio and for all who are traveling this week.

+We continue to pray for the people of Haiti as they continue to recover from the earthquake earlier this month.

+We pray for the people of Afghanistan as they face an uncertain future.

+We pray for those serving in our nation's military and those supporting them.

+Prayers are sought for Polly S.' son, Mike who is dealing with health issues.

+We join with our nation in mourning the deaths of the eleven Marines, one soldier, one sailor, and 170 Afghans killed in the Kabul airport attack.

+We lift up the people of New Orleans on the 16th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina as Hurricane Ida makes landfall as a category 4 storm.

+We pray for those continuing to be impacted by the ongoing pandemic.

+We join with people across the USA in mourning the deaths of 264 people due to gun violence last week.
