“Do You Hear What I Hear?”

I heard this first as a kid,* listening to radio in my bed, after I was supposed to be asleep. The idea of forbidden news making it all the way to the king’s ears is appealing. I have now sung this with several choirs, reinforcing the original sense of spreading earth-shaking good news.
