Something that sticks in my mind at Christmastime is candles and candlelight services. The first candlelight service I experienced was at a different church. It was a fairly small group of people standing around the edge of the sanctuary holding candles. The glow of the candles and the humming or soft singing about our Savior’s birth lends a reverent glow and seems to bring us closer to God.When we came to St Paul’s we were also introduced to the lighting of the Advent wreath and the reading of scripture to tell the story which each week brings us closer to Christmas Eve and the lighting of the Christ candle and again the glow in our hearts and our faces and reminding us of His love for each of us.
