I did not think of myself as being particularly religious or growing up in a family that was. That being said...
From my earliest childhood Grandma Dede would have us say the Lord’s Prayer at bedtime or the 23rd Psalm. She would take us to church and had a professional singing voice that carried the hymns so beautifully that the church would go silent around her.
Dad and Mom were both in the ski business, so going to Sunday services was impossible since Sunday was a big ski day. But my father would tell us that we will be closer to God than most, at 12,000 feet skiing and enjoying God’s gifts of nature and spectacular scenery.
Certainly after more than two thousand years, tens of millions of souls—with all the people touched and comforted by God, it is clear from the fine traditions, morality, hope that God must be real.
