Denton UMC (Montana)
Dear Mountain Sky Conference siblings,
You may have heard about the devastating fire in Denton, Montana last week. Our church and parsonage were spared. However, 25 families lost their homes due to fire.
Mike Moore, our conference disaster response coordinator, has been in contact with Denton pastor Rev. Margaret Smith to learn of the needs and how we can assist.
Currently, there is a need for cash donations. Donations to the Conference Disaster Response Fund can be made by following the link found on our conference website https://www.mtnskyumc.
The Conference Disaster Response Committee will be working with the Denton community to assess clean up needs. Many homes have smoke and soot damage so we will be sending UMCOR Cleaning Kits to the community. We will also let you know of specific volunteer opportunities once we learn more.
Please keep Rev. Smith, the Denton congregation, and the entire community in your prayers. Psalm 46: 1 reminds us: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. May God’s presence be felt through the ways we offer care and compassion and bring comfort and peace to those who have lost so much.
