Today’s Meditation Verse: “Happy is she who believed that the Lord would fulfill the promises made to her.” —Luke 1:45
Welcome... Pastor Charles
Prelude... Lorie Courier / “A Christmas Overture and Fantasia,” by Phillip Keveren and Jennifer Linn
Lighting the Advent Wreath... Tim and Sandi Cook
Today we light the third Advent candle, the shepherd's candle. This candle is offered in honor of the shepherds whose love and care for their sheep became the example of God’s love for us. We remember that the shepherds were the first witnesses of our Savior’s birth. In honor of all good shepherds and, especially, Jesus the Christ, we light this candle. Three candles are lit.
Dear God, our Good Shepherd, empower our lives to be filled with love, that in loving others we might bear witness to Your love for us. We give You thanks for shepherds, especially Jesus.
