Devotional for December 11

1 John 2:1 (New Century Version) “My dear children, I write this letter to you so you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a helper in the presence of the Father—Jesus Christ, the One who does what is right.”

I am a planner. My job title has even been Planner Analyst in the past. I like to have every situation planned for so that I’m not surprised, and when I am not prepared for a situation that pops up, I tend to get very grumpy. But of course humans can’t predict and prepare for every scenario that can come to pass. So my sister is constantly telling me I need to let God handle things, that He will take care of me. He is our helper. He tells us this in the Bible: “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?’” (‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬)

‭‭

Now all I need to do is follow that!
