Cristian Schlick’s love of the law and God’s call to ministry led him to United Methodist Global Ministries service. Cristian works on immigration law in Mexico City where he helps clients navigate the legal system to aid in getting them where they want to go. Some clients are those seeking political asylum, some are fleeing from abuse or daunting economic situations. The reasons are many and so are the challenges.
Cristian calls himself a human rights activist and serves as the Regional Migration Specialist for Latin America and the Caribbean with the Global Migration Team of United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). He works with Methodist and ecumenical partners across the region to assist people on the move.
